RALLYE OVERVIEW
Alice Springs is the hub of Outback Australia. Deserts, mountain ranges, waterholes, ancient rivers and the iconic red soil are all within easy reach of the town centre. Experiencing all of what Central Australia has to offer is on everyone’s bucket list - and what better way to experience it than on the back of your motorcycle!
The 2020 edition of the Rallye was unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid-19 crisis, so 2021 been designed to suit all rider abilities, and all makes and models of bikes are welcome. Participants can expect to experience a wide range of landscapes over the week – everything that this part of the world has to offer.
Daily routes will return to Alice Springs each evening. This means that you don’t need to pilot a fully loaded bike each day, just carry some basic spares and water. You can then relax each evening in the accommodation of your choice – anything from a backpackers hostel to a five-star resort.
Each day we will provide a fully catered lunch at a pre-determined location along the route. Previous Rallye participants have raved about our catering!
Alice Springs in August experiences mild nights and deep blue, cloudless skies during the day, with average temperatures in the mid-twenties. Why not treat yourself, escape the gloomy winter of the southern states and recharge your batteries!
What are you waiting for? Get your riding buddies together in a group, or come alone and make new friends, either way, get yourself to the 2021 Red Centre Adventure Rallye and experience stunning scenery and awesome riding that you’ll never forget.
ROUTES AND NAVIGATION
For 2021, we will have two specific daily routes;
The first is the 'Adventure' option. This is for riders who want to experience the Red Centre sights but don't want to risk life and limb in the process! A perfect option for beginners on all bikes, those on large adventure bikes that don't want to manhandle their machine through deep sand or rocks, or for those that may want to bring along their partner and ride two-up together. This option will include some bitumen, formed dirt roads and easy 4WD tracks.
The second option is the 'Challenge' routes. These are for intermediate to experienced riders on smaller/lighter machinery, or experienced riders on bigger adventure bikes that wish to really challenge themselves! Expect lots of dirt tracks, sand, some single track and the odd rocky section or hill climb to keep you on your toes.
You can pick your route each day depending on how you feel - we'll also let you know which routes are more demanding so you can decide each day as the week progresses.
We will provide .gpx files for you to utilise each day along with a daily route sheet highlighting any points of interest, lunch location, fuel stops and obstacles you may need to be aware of. We don’t intend to mark the course unless absolutely necessary so it is imperative that you have a navigation aid in order to participate. A GPS unit or even a smartphone with an app such as REVER installed will be sufficient.
